These are all of my attempts to get a Christmas card!! As you can tell, Jack can not take a picture without making some sort of pose, or fist or something and Emma will not smile for the camera to save my life!!?? The Christmas card will definitely be interesting this year... We've really had a fun Christmas season already!!!:)

Santa showed up at the awards program for the JDRF walk!!:)) Jack got 3 awards, by the way:)) He was so proud!!

Wister Gardens is sooo beautiful, all the time, but especially at Christmas!!

This would be Santa #3 for the weekend:)) We had a fun time eating pancakes with Santa at MiMi and Papaw's church...oh, and riding the Gospel train:))

I cannot even begin to explain the overwhelming response we've had in support for Team SuperJack!! It has really been quite amazing!! Over the past few months, we have raised an incredible $10,000!!!! Our goal was $5000 and I really thought that was stretching it..so as you can imagine, I'm astounded!!! Walk Day was just the icing on the cake for all of the love and support we've recieved!! It was such a FUN day for us all:)) I'm sick that we waited until the end to take our group picture, when I would say probably about 20 people had already left!! That is just one of those things that I will know to do in the beginning next year:) But as you can see in our group picture...It's still a lot people minus the ones that had been there!! And I also know that there were so many people who couldn't be there...but were there with us in spirit:) I just can't even put into words how blessed we feel to have so many people love on us and support us in our grueling effort to find a cure for our baby!! It's amazing how one little "SuperJack" can affect and touch the lives of so many people... My Hero!!!

Big Weekend!!!

Our crazy, busy weekend started on Thursday night with Beth, Chad, Avery and McKenna arriving!! We all went down to the Montrachet Mingle and "mingled"...which was Lots of Fun!! Somehow Jack ended up singing for the crowd...and as you can tell, got really into it and was Loving it!!!:)) I have absolutely no idea what I would have done without Beth here to help me sort, bundle, record(for Bryan...ahem) and deliver tshirts...whew!! I also had my friend Jessica helping me deliver..huge weight lifted!! I really didn't realize what a big task that was all going to be!! Anyway, Jack had a ball with the girls...They NEVER stopped!! ...And Chad will do anything and everything you ask..just say the word!! In other words...I am so thankful they were here this weekend:))

Friday night there was a Pre-Walk Family Night Carnival!! My house is now overrun with crazy light up toys, hats, hulla hoops...you name it!! If it lights up and makes noises, we have it!!:)

Jack's class just finished learning about the letter Cc! They ended their awesome week with a "camping trip". They sat in a tent and read a book about a coyote and went fishing for C words. They even had a roaring campfire too! ..And everyone was suppose to wear their caps, of course!! Love his teacher, Ms Amy...and Trinity:))

Jack is in 4 year old preschool this year and we couldn't be happier!! His teacher is Amy Friday, who used to teach 1st grade at Madison Station, where I taught..needless to say, I'm sooooo excited:)) She's awesome and I know we are going to have a fabulous year!!! Love, Love, Love Trinity Preschool:)))

Em is signed up for 3 mornings a week...but we'll see how that goes:)) Don't know if I'm quite ready to give her up at all yet!!!

Emma had the BEST time on her birthday:)) She absolutely loved opening presents and just got so excited about each one of them!! Still unbelievable that my baby girl is two years old!!!

She got a "play" Sundae set and decided she would eat everything out of it...But why not??!!:)

The hit of the night was the Tinkerbell Costume that PawPaw and Grandma Carter gave her....actually the SHOES!!! She loves shoes and these light up!!!! Big Hit!!:)

Ended the night going "night night" with her sweet blanket that Grammy made for her babies...too sweet!!:)

It's hard to believe it's been 6 months since our little man was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes!!! In this time, he has endured about 1800 finger pricks and about 900 insluin injections in his tiny arms, legs and tummy....in just 6 months!!!! On average, 2 children are being diagnosed every week with a disease that as of right now has NO cure!!! We are asking family and friends to sign up to walk on our team, on October 22nd, and donate to Team SuperJack....in the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes put on by JDRF. Loving These Summer Days!

We've been doing a little of this and that, this past week!! We met Grayson and his mom at the splash park early in the week! Grayson is our new, "sweet" friend...It's really perfect because he and Jack are the same age and it gives me a chance to talk "diabetes" with his mom, Clancy, while they play!!

We went to Belzoni later in the week and Jack got to play with his friend Tucker while we were there!!! Love being so free on these summer days!:)

Erin and I had the BEST time just having "Real" girl time for 3 whole days at my house, while Jack and Bryan were visiting in Kentucky!! I should say we were all in KY together first, but Erin, Em, Lily and I flew back a little early and had good, quality time that we have needed for sooooo long!!:)) We miss them so much and cherish every minute we get to spend together!!! Erin and I are so blessed that we get to watch our baby girls grow up and not only be first cousins, but best friends forever too!!:) Fun, Fun times!!!! I love Palm Sunday service!! It marks Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, completely and openly knowing of His fate...all for us. What an amazing service to get our hearts and minds ready for the celebration of our risen Lord!!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. (1 Peter 1:3-4)

We went to the first of our many functions with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation...an Egg Hunt!! It was such a great group of people and so nice to make lots of new friends!!

Jack's preious preschool had Fairy Tale Day today...Jack went as Peter Pan! I'm telling you these teachers outdid themselves...they are AWESOME!! The kids rotated through different rooms or "Fairy Tales" and did lots of fun activities in each! Jack's room was the Jack and the Beanstalk room...perfect:)) I cannot say enough how much we love Trinity and how blessed we are to be there!!

From the moment we said, "Let's go to Disney", I knew it was going to be a trip a huge proportions!! I have always been in awe of Disney...but to take your children to Disney, with your family....Absolutely Amazing!!!! I cannot even count the times my eyes were tear filled just watching Jack and Emma in utter amazement of it all...but to share that with my mom, dad and sister, just made every savory moment even more special!! It was no surprise to me that Jack would love every second of it...and of course know everyone, everywhere that we went, but Emma, on the other hand, was a guessing game! The first night we saw Mickey and crew, she would rather not have been there....but, the next day, she ended up surprising us all and loved them!!! Great, great, great trip....these are memories that will last a lifetime!!!

My Princess!! I cannot even tell you how happy this "Princess Luncheon" made me!! Emma absolutely lit up when she saw Belle..and I completely teared up just watching Emma in such complete happiness! She was absolutely in awe of the princesses (even though these pictures seem totally opposite)... and they all loved her:))

We also had to go see "Lego Land" at Downtown Disney...quite amazing!

This was our Animal Kingdom Day!! Didn't really get any pictures except at our character lunch because my camera decided to malfunction...But, I must say that Animal Kingdom is on tops of my list...Awesome!!!:)

Emma's favorite character was Daffy!! Anytime we saw Daffy or Daisy...she went into histerics saying..."Duck, Duck, Duck!!" This Daffy played with her for at least 10 minutes while we were waiting to go into the restaurant...priceless!!!

This was our last morning at Magic Kingdom...one last Dumbo...one last horsey ride!! No doubt, we will be back!!:)

There couldn't have been a better ending to our trip than seeing Star Wars at Hollywood Studios!! Oh my gosh...I just cannot say enough about how Jack seeing this was the highlight of my trip!! He has lately grown to LOVE Star Wars and seeing this show and meeting the crew afterwards was the greatest thing in the world....tears flowing!!! Perfect ending to a Perfect Trip!!!!

We had the pleasure of having Mary Ella over while Jessica and Brad moved into their new, FABULOUS house!!! They played soooo good together...we all had a ball!!:) Just can't keep saying enough how excited I am that Emma has a best friend!!:) This is TOO much fun!!!!

Fun Day At the Zoo!!!

We had such a fun time at the zoo with all of our friends!! The weather was great, the kids were good and fun, the animals were out to play and the adult company I must say was also pretty awesome:)) Good times!!:)

I never got a picture of Rileigh's beautiful face...she and Jack were completely in awe of all of the animals!!

Emma was so excited to see her best friend...We LOVE Mary Ella and Jessica!! They were soooo good in their strollers...wonder how much longer that will last??:)

Just have to say how impressed I am with Jack's preschool!! He is 3 and reading actual words, can write lots of letters, knows all of your basics like colors, numbers, days of week, weather words, etc...But, one of the most precious things I love the most, other than it's small, gentle, friendly atmosphere, is that they do LOTS of art!!! This is the teacher part in me...well, at least the art infused teacher part;) Not only is he learning sooooo much, but I know he's having a ball:))) These are just a few of my favs...Jack's portfolio:))

They did a hibernation unit and he can tell you what hibernation means and which animals hibernate...This is his bear in a cave:)

Of course, our fav is "Where the Wild Things Are"...Awwwwww!!!!

Best Friends

My lifelong best friend, Sutton, had sweet, baby Edwin in October, and this past weekend we were finally able to get all of the kids together for the first time!! We had so much fun!! We played kick ball, the kids made Valentines and had cupcakes and of course, we just hung out and visited!! Having a best friend like Sutton means that our kids will also be best friends by default...actually with any Sory:)) There's nothing like having a true best friend that you love dearly and I've always been so blessed to have Sutton and her family in my life... they ALL truly are my second family!!!

Belzoni Snow

After I realized that Belzoni was suppose to be getting up to 5 inches of snow on Wednesday, we quickly packed it up and got up there!! We got there just in time to put on our snow clothes and head outside!! What a great time we all had!!!

Jack had his first "real" playdate this week...his best friend Mason came over to play!! Mason actually rode home from school with us and his mom came to pick him up later that day...don't know that I've seen Jack so excited!!!!:) Amazing that he is old enough to already have friends over!! Reminds me so much of me and my best friend, Sutton:))

Notice anything different, besides how much sweet, baby girl has grown...her bed!!! Emma decided a few weeks ago to jump, crawl or fall (not really sure which) out of her beautiful, white, perfect little bed that I searched high and low for before she was born..at only 17 months of age!!! So, we had to put up Jack's old bed, which is also beautiful but definitely does not go with my all white and pink decor, only because his bed lowers more than hers did!! She is definitely our happy, little spitfire:))

Bryan's brother, "Uncle Chad", came to visit and run in the Blues Marathon a couple of weekends ago and got trapped here from all of the Mississippi weather...who would have thought!!:) We were so lucky and happy to have him hang around a little longer than planned!!:)

We've decided we're not going to let diabetes stop our lives!! Is it changing our lives...absolutely!! But we're moving on, accepting it and trying to get as back to normal as possible!! Jack is my HERO!!!!:)

Since we couldn't go to Louisville this Christmas...Louisville came to us!! PawPaw and Uncle Cam came in and surprised Jack for an awesome Christmas visit!! There are many traits I hope Jack acquires from different people, but learning music and playing the guitar are tops on my list from these two awesome musicians!!!:)

My Jack Jack...

Never, would I have ever thought when these pictures made the covers of two different magazines that we would , within days, be finding out that Jack had Type 1 or Juvenile Diabetes. On November 29th, I took Jack in to see his pediatrician with a runny nose and cough. Dr. Smith gave him a steroid for the croup and an antibiotic for a sinus infection! That very day he became extremely thirsty, tee teeing all of the time, sudden bed wetting when he's been potty trained for a year now, and just plain moody and irritable...but isn't that a normal 3 year old!!?? I just thought it was a side effect of the medicine and it would go away! Well..we finished all of the medicine, and I soon realized the symptoms weren't going away! So, I started researching and everything pointed to diabetes, but I truly thought.. no way, do we have diabetes...maybe a slightly high blood sugar that could be resolved with diet, but true diabetes...NEVER!!! So, this past Monday, December 13th, Dr. Smith confirmed my worst fear...It was diabetes and he sent us immediately to Batson where a team of five different people were waiting on us!!! ...And so the journey begins...

The diagnosis and the treatment, I have to say were completely heartbreaking! The thought of my 3 year old baby having to have injections so many times a day, absolutely killed me! Yes, we were so thankful that it was a diagnosis that could be treated and could be managed, and we were trying with all of our hearts to stay positive and strong for Jack...but, our hearts were shattered!!! Those first few day of having his finger stuck 4/5 times a day followed by insulin injections, 4/5 times a day, while it took 3 people to hold him down kicking, screaming and crying, just about KILLED us!! I didn't know how any of us would survive this!!! ...But, God started intervening!!!

So many Godly things have happened in this short experience thus far, that I just know and am resolved in the fact that this diagnosis truly has a greater purpose and meaning and that God is completely in control!!! Just to name a few of the many Godly experiences...We have been searching for a satisfying church home for quite some time and we now know, for many, many reasons now, that Broadmoor Baptist is exactly where we're suppose to be, and HE will continue to do great things for our family there!!! Another Godly intervention came when we first met our pediatric endocrinologist...she had just read the Hinds County Connection magazine and saw Jack on the cover the day before and thought what a cute boy...and there we were..she took extra, special care of us!!:)

So, now we're home and Jack is settling much better with the shots and finger pricks each day!! Everyone says that it will soon become second nature! We can see that already happening...but, we're still a ways from it and still far from having his glucose levels at a normal level!! We have to watch, consider and analyse, based on carb count and glucose level, every morsel that goes into his mouth and then follow up with an insulin injection! Fun, No...Manageable, Treatable and Thankful...YES!!!!

We just ask that you keep Jack in your prayers!!! Not only that he continue to stay healthy and happy, but that he may soon understand the importance of all the "shots" and soon be completely comfortable with them!! He is such a smart, strong, healthy, funny, cool and just plain cute little boy that has everything in the world going for him...and I know will be just fine!!! Who knows, maybe Jack will be the one to find the cure the diabetes...wouldn't put it past that smart little sucker!!!:) This is definitely one of those, I never thought it would happen to us kinds of things...but it has, and we are accepting it!!:) Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers!!!

Jack's precious school has an annual costume parade and party...so cute and such fun!!

We had a little Pumpking Carving Party at our house with Will and Tyler...complete with "Spooky" food, games and of course pumpking carving!!! Such a fun, fun night!!

It's hard to believe that Emma is already 14 months old!! She's finally big enough to semi "play" with Jack now!! Their favorite thing to do is play ball...it's also Em's favorite word:)) She still only takes a few steps here and there!! I think she just likes hitching rides from Jack and from my hip;) Or, it could be that she has been too busy cutting more teeth to actually start walking...she now has 4 molars..crazy!!!! She is pointing out her eyes, hands, feet, and belly, saying lots of words, dancing to ANY kind of music (so now I have an excuse to sing all the time:)) and basically she just amazes us every single day!! What a blessing to have such happy, healthy children!!

Fair with Friends

We had so much fun at the fair with our friends!! Weather was beautiful...rather hot, but beautiful..food was greasy and good, and we love being with our friends...So Fun!!

Jack and John Clark loved feeding the animals..their hands were nice and clean after that!!

I had such a great birthday weekend...I think they are just getting better and better!! Apparently, the goal of my birthday was to get pictures of myself with Jack and Em... I'm so happy to finally have some new pictures though!!:) ...and as cute as my Ole Miss football player is, I'm not sure it's going to be enough to help them through this season!!

Em's favorite thing to do is climb through the coffe table, and more times than not, Jack decides it's also time to crawl through the "tunnel"!:)

Emma's favorite thing to do is walk behind Jack's car...she may not ever learn to walk on her own since she's always hitching a ride;) Obviously Jack's superhero choice these days is Batman...or least on these 2 days it was!!) Oh, also if you look really hard you'll see something white in the BACK of Em's mouth...that would be her new 2 year old molar....yep, that's right!!

I can't believe Jack is in 3 year old preschool this year!!! He's loving every minute of it...he actually begs to stay longer:)) We are so thankful for our sweet preschool, his teachers, his friends and looking forward to yet another great year!! My Big Boy!!!

This is just part 1 of Emma's birthday!! We are having her birthday party this weekend, but I just couldn't stand her not blowing out a candle and opening a few presents on her actual birthday, so we had a little pre-party for her!! Not real sure she liked the burning candle...should have known though, because she really does not like the fire when we go Habachi...oops!!!

Girl's Weekend

I had such an amazing weekend in New Orleans with my best lifelong friends...Sutton & Roger, Rainer & Alex and precious Denton and Ana!! I can't think of a more special time to spend with Sutton than now, before her sweet baby boy (who I like to call Charlie, but no one else seems to agree) arrives in September! At 28 weeks, Sut is just absolutely more beautiful than ever and one thing is for sure...baby boy is going to have phenomenal parents!! Nothing like a good weekend of great food, lots of playing, shopping, and spending time with the people you love most!!:))

I cannot even keep up with how many birthday celebrations Jack actually had over the weekend or the past week for that matter...Let's just say he had an AWESOME birthday and somewhere in there we also celebrated the 4th...fireworks, food, family and fun:)) What a great weekend!!!

Beach Trip

Ok..so no, we did not get in the gulf, but we still had a fabulous vacation!! We lived in the pool, relaxed, played a lot and ate well...what more do you need?? We all spent many hours looking out our balcony at the beauty of the beaches and truly hope this is not the last time we will see them in such a semi-pristine condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the many, many people and wildlife who are so drastically being affected by this devistation!! It's really hard to comprehend how this tragedy has still NOT been stopped!!!

I had to have my "Pretty Pictures"...so proud of them!!:)
